About LookupMeds

LookupMeds is a simple medication lookup tool. Search a brand or generic medication name to find its generic name and active ingredient, then see other FDA-listed drug products that contain the same ingredient.

How it works

• Search a brand name (like Lipitor) to see its generic name and active ingredient (atorvastatin).
• Search a generic name (like atorvastatin) to see brand names and products listed with it.
• Combination products are shown separately and clearly labeled.

What LookupMeds is not

LookupMeds does not diagnose conditions, recommend medications, determine dosages, or say whether two products are interchangeable. Products with the same active ingredient can differ in strength, dosage form, route, formulation and approved uses. Always talk to a pharmacist or physician before changing medication.
